We get this question daily – which cable do I need for my DJI Remote control to connect to my phone or tablet -and we make a lot of phone calls checking people have ordered the right cable when we see something that doesn’t look right as well!

A couple of key things to note with the cables for your drone remote:
- they are single direction. So a USB-C to Micro USB cable is different to a Micro USB to USB-C Cable. The cable is specific to each remote!
- You can’t just use ‘any old cable’ you have around home – while you may ‘fluke’ it and have a cable that works, a lot of cables are ‘power only’ so won’t actually work with your remote control for data between your remote and your phone or tablet!
So – which cable do I need? Lets walk through it…
If you have an older drone, with a remote control that you open up the holder at the bottom to put your phone in – this could be a DJI Spark, Mavic Pro, Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 2 Zoom or Mavic Mini – you need a cable that has Micro USB on the remote control end. It can be confusing – as DJI for whatever reason at the time made the connector on the remote look a little square-r than a normal Micro USB – but IT WILL WORK! From there, you just need to know which connector is on the device you are using. We offer three different cables depending upon the connector on your phone
If your drone is newer, and has a grey remote (DJI RC-N1, RC-N2 or RC-N3) where you put the phone in the holder at the top of the remote – then your need a cable that has a USB-C on the remote control end. We offer these in two different lengths – 15cm and 30cm depending on your requirements – and then you just need to ensure you select the right connector on your device end.

- USB-C to USB-C
- USB-C to Lightning
- USB-C to Micro USB (if your selecting this one – double check! It is rare for this to be the correct cable option as older phones with Micro USB tend to not be compatible with this DJI Remote!)
